StarStarStarStarStar IHF1000 Good Sound
User: Joe Mechanic, Mar 30, 2008
The IHF1000 has good sound in my opinion compared to a Parot 3100. I looked around for over a month trying to find a unit that had good sound when the driver is going down the road. Something I noticed about the Parot was that it cut out some times, and the sound reminded me of somebody talking in a pipe. It could have been the professional install, but several I heard all sounded the same. As for the Motorola IHF1000, it works good if you follow the instructions. Ive seen some installs where the speaker was near the door and they just didnt sound good. Follow the instructions for component location and it will work and sound good. For those who want to do their own install, there is a direct plug wire kit and switcher kit for most cars available. I would recommend against wiring to your radio speakers without the switcher kit.
StarStarStarStarStar Solid Motorola Quality
User: Russell Campbell, Dec 27, 2007
If you want to start off with a top-notch full-install speakerphone car kit, the Motorola IHF1000 is just the ticket. Because the microphone and speaker are physcially separated, the sound clarity cant be beat. If you are a little bit handy, you can install it yourself --- just be sure to get the right wiring harness for your make & model of car. Many car stereo units have a mute wire, and the IHF1000 will mute your radio or CD player promptly when you receive or originate a call. The built-in voice recognition worked great. And if you forget the voice commands, the help menu will prompt you with a selection. Pairing the unit to a Bluetooth phone is easy. And once the pairing is done, the unit will automatically hook up with your cell phone every time when you turn the ignition key on, followed by a brief voice-annouce to let you know the connection is complete. The laws out there requiring hands-free operation are getting tougher, and this unit will provide a big dose of added safety to your driving. Highly recommended.
StarStarStarStarStar Works Perfectly with the Q
User: Matthew Rabinowitz, Jan 14, 2007

Pros:  Easy setup, easy pairing, voice command just works!
Cons:  external speaker could be a little louder, have to get it installed.

My wife bought me the IHF1000 for my birthday. I got it installed through a pro installer in my city. I do not have any complaints whatsoever. It's the best bluetooth accessorie i've owned. My only nitpick is that the external speaker volume could be louder.
StarStarStarStarStar Paring IHF1000 and 3g Iphone
User: Jim Czerwinski, Jul 13, 2008
I got my 3g iPhone yesterday and paired it and had not problems with it. It paired and answers and hangs up as it is supposed to. im able to make voice command calls from the IHF1000 also without any problems. Im not sure why its being reported that people are having this problem. It took me less than a minute and it works fine.
StarStarStarStarStar Samsung Impression locks screen w/ each call
User: Howie Barte, Jun 21, 2009
I have Motorola IHF100 & Samsung Impression. Every time I either receive a call or connect when making a call, the phone screen locks. There is no rhyme or reason for this, and no setting that I can find to stop it. It is EXTREMELY annoying.

If someone has a solution, please email me natca1@cox.net
StarStarStarStarStar Blackberry Problem
User: Joy Morgan, Jul 18, 2007

Pros:  design, ease of use, flexibility
Cons:  wont pair with Blackberry

We had this installed in two vehicles. Unfortunately naively thought bluetooth compatible meant I could use my Blackberry with it. Not possible. Motorola acknowledged they were aware of some problems but couldnt/wouldnt say whether they were working on a fix. It works great with our other phones, but now Im spoiled and want something as good and small as this for my BB.
StarStarStarStarStar Nice product, just wish it worked with my iPhone 3G
User: Dan Boggs, Sep 9, 2008
I had this product installed two years ago and it naturally worked flawlessly with my Motorola phones. Unfortunately it does not work as well with my new iPhone 3G. The two devices are able to establish an initial connection. However on subsequent attempts they are not able to automatically re-establish a connection.
StarStarStarStarStar not recommeded
User: stefan kaemmer, Oct 21, 2010

Pros:  sound clarity
Cons:  miserable voice recognition

Using it with an Android phone. Unit looses Bluetooth pairing frequently. The voice recognition is so bad that I cant program it. Incoming calls have to be acknowledgt on the phone and not the Motorola remote as it otherwise cancels the call. Conclusion: an unfinished expensive product. Will never buy anything Motorola again.
StarStarStarStarStar NOT A PERFECT FIT
User: Charles Watson, Jul 22, 2008
I have had the car kit for a while and just paired it with my new 3g iphone. It paired but has a big delay before using the car kit speaker on out going calls and wont pick up incoming calls. Maybe there is a setting that I need to fix but so far I am not pleased.
StarStarStarStarStar NOT for iPhone
User: Chris St.Germain, Feb 7, 2008

Pros:  Works, kind of.
Cons:  Works, kind of.

When you press the answer button on the control module, the phone hangs up. You can answer by pressing the answer button on the iPhone. This kit is definitely not FOR the iPhone. (I had it long before iPhone came out.)
StarStarStarStarStar Not made for Apple
User: David Scherer, Jan 15, 2008

Pros:  Nice looking
Cons:  Does not properly function with iPhone

There is nothing about this device that makes it "for Apple". The device will pair via bluetooth, however it will not properly answer calls, hang up calls, respond to voice commands. Wait till this product is supported by Apple before you buy this for your iPhone.
