Pros: Does what is says..
Cons: Cradle design could have been better
Pros: Charges both phone and spare battery and functions as stand for phone.
Cons: To charge phone and spare battery simultaneously you must use two plugs. Tolerances of micro usb loose in such a way that might cause damage to usb port on phone with long term use. The blue l.e.d. that indicates phone charging is so bright that it migh
1. To charge the phone you slide the phone upright into the stand. A small male micro usb inserts into the phone and thus, charges it. However, the tolerances of the back of the charger relative to the placement of the micro usb could be tighter. I.e., when inserted, there is a small amount of play that could result in bending the usb port on your phone. This should be no problem if you are very careful, but to this user I feel that should be more snug. Please note however, I have not experienced any damage to my phone thus far, but I dont plan to use that part of the charger for the next reason..
2. The blue l.e.d. is extremely bright. This is the indicator that shows you are charging the phone, and not the spare. The spare l.e.d. is not too bright and varies between green/amber to show charged or not. I could be wrong about those colors because I am red/green color blind. I wish the tech world would realize that some 8 percent of men are red/green colorblind..anyway, the blue l.e.d. is so bright that is shines a big blue spotlight on my ceiling at night and is too bright for nighttime use.
3. To charge the phone and the battery you must use 2 plugs. Thats right. Instead of one plug to plug in, you have to plug in two plugs. One is a usb thats permanently attached and the other is a micro usb port to which you use your original charger.
Overall it does the job, but is not particularly elegant. If not for the above mentioned things I would have given it 5 stars.
Pros: Stand up charger base
Cons: Hard to use
I use one on my desk and one on my nightstand and was so accustomed to simply setting the Pre down on the base with one hand--this is definitely a two-hand, lights on operation. It just seems to me that a desktop charger should not need to be lifted off the desk in order to insert the charging plug into the phone.
