Pros: fitment and now clips to break
Cons: -

ive had it less than a week but have noticed the side foam presses the volume down button, but im thinking im squeezing it to much. The power cord does work with it but have to unplug if you need to remove the phone. Headset solves that issue. Overall happy with purchase.

Cons: Phone fit into holder

This is a quality built unit. However, the fit of the phone is a concern. When you squeeze the side brackets that hold the phone, the volume and the camera buttons on the right side of the phone are pushed and the power connector on the left side of the phone is covered up. You can overcome these problems by raising the phone up in the holder off of the bottom rest bracket before squeezing the side brackets.

Pros: Seems fairly sturdy.
Cons: Jaws dont open wide enough. Foam padding comes off easy. Wont work with HTC Thunderbold if you have a case.

I am bummed about this phone hold which I got for my HTC thunderbold. Its supposed to be compatible, but the jaws barely open wide enough, and they dont if you have a case on your phone. This made the foam grip start to tare off really easily, even after I removed my case.

I ended up removing the foam tape from one side completely to get my phone to fit properly, and will probably fit it will some thinner foam tape to make it work.

Not universal enough for Droid X

I have used a similar product that was created for my Treo 700p and it has worked perfectly for several years. There isnt a product created specifically for the Droid X, however, and this Universal Phone Holder doesnt work so well. The side bars are placed in a way that they directly block the mini USB jack so that I cannot charge my phone while it is mounted. If it were truly universal, there would be a vertical adjustment, which would allow me to place the side bars in a more useful location. Also, like many people, I keep my Droid X in a rubber case (verizon shell/holster is what I use). The side bars are adjustable, but they wont spread wide enough to accommodate the Droid X, along with the rubber case. The side bars come with a rubber cushion on either side. Once I removed the cushions, I can now squeeze the phone into place, and I added some electrical tape to hold the phone.. Not an ideal solution at all, however it is working out okay, given the limitations.

needs to open a little more for the 4g to fit, especially if you have a case on your phone.
