Cant get even 8 hours out of this battery

Even with Advanced App Killer installed on my phone & killing apps every 30 minutes, this battery routinely fails to last an entire day. I charge the phone every night & use the car charger whenever I am in the car. I have also let the battery "die" and then charged it all day & night. Still, by 4:00pm, the battery is "in the red."
